What is the Digital Marketing Adelaide internship program?

Our internship program is a 12-week hands-on placement inside a working digital marketing agency. You will work alongside our full team, learn real skills across advertising, social media, SEO, and content, and finish the program with genuine experience employers actually want.

How long is the internship?

The internship program runs for 12 weeks, three days a week. That gives you enough time to properly learn the work, contribute to real client projects, and build a portfolio you can take to your next role.

What days do interns work?

Interns work Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 9am to 5pm. We do not run the program on Mondays or Fridays. This structure works around most university timetables.

Is the internship paid or unpaid?

The internship is an unpaid learning placement, structured to comply with the Fair Work Ombudsman's guidelines for genuine internships. You are here to learn, not to replace paid staff. What you get in return is real experience, real training, real mentoring, and access to our network at the end.

Where is the internship based?

Our office is at 142 Melbourne Street, North Adelaide. All interns work on site with the team. This is not a remote internship. Being in the office is a big part of the learning.

Who is the internship for?

The internship is for marketing and business students, recent graduates, and career changers with a genuine interest in digital marketing. You do not need to have any prior agency experience. What matters most is curiosity, work ethic, and a real interest in the industry.

Do I need to be studying marketing to apply?

Not necessarily. Most of our interns are studying marketing, business, or communications, but we have taken on interns from other backgrounds who showed a real passion for digital marketing. Your interest matters more than your degree title.

What makes an application stand out?

A well-written cover letter, a CV that shows curiosity beyond your degree, and evidence you have actually engaged with digital marketing in some form. Bonus points for a short video showing off your CapCut or video editing skills. Totally optional, but we love seeing creativity in action.

How competitive is the program?

We only take two interns per intake, so applications are competitive. We look for genuine interest first, skills second. Skills we can teach. Interest we cannot.

Will I get a job at the end?

We cannot promise a job, but we will not rule it out. Eight of our current and former team members started as interns. And every intern who has completed our 12-week program has gone on to build a career in marketing somewhere.

What happens at the end of the internship?

You leave with a written reference from Matt Williamson and the team, warm introductions into our network, and, in some cases, an offer to join Digital Marketing Adelaide full time. If we cannot hire you ourselves, we will actively help you find your next role.

Do I get access to your network?

Yes. Ten years of running an Adelaide marketing agency means we know a lot of people, both agencies and businesses. Interns who complete the program get access to that network for warm introductions and job leads. This is one of the most valuable things you take home from the program.

How often do you take on interns?

We run the program roughly every three months. Applications open ahead of each intake. If applications are currently closed, register your interest below and we will let you know when the next intake opens.

Can I do the internship for university credit?

Quite possibly. Every university and TAFE has its own placement rules, so please check with your placement coordinator first. If your institution accepts external internships for credit, we are happy to work with them and provide any documentation they need.

The team at Digital Marketing Adelaide are excited to put the call out for two social media/digital marketing Interns to join our Internship Program. Our internship program is perfect for marketing enthusiasts who are looking to gain experience in a marketing agency. Working with us is going to accelerate your knowledge and give you that hands-on experience every employer is looking for.

You'll learn how to build and analyse real ad campaigns across Meta, Google, TikTok, and every other platform we run. You'll see how SEO works today, and how we help clients get found on AI search. We'll teach you how to create social media strategies that actually work. And you'll work with a team that will teach you everything we know, and probably teach you a few things about coffee orders while we're at it.
